"Susumu Tachi (born January 1, 1946) is currently a professor of Graduate School of Media Design at Keio University and Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo. Dr. Tachi received the BE, MS, and Ph.D. degrees in mathematical engineering and information physics from the University of Tokyo in 1968, 1970, and 1973, respectively. He joined the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Tokyo in 1973, and in 1975 moved to the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory, Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Tsukuba Science City, Japan, where he served as the Director of the Biorobotics Division. In 1989 he rejoined the University of Tokyo. From 1979 to 1980, Dr. Tachi was a Japanese Government Award Senior Visiting Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA. His scientific achievements includes intelligent mobile robot systems for the blind called Guide Dog Robot (1976-1983) and National Large Scale Project on Advanced Robotics, especially advanced human robot systems with a real-time sensation of presence known as Telexistence (Tele-Existence) (1983-1990). His present research covers Telexistence, Real-time Remote Robotics (R-Cubed) and Virtual Reality. Prof. Tachi is a Founding Director of the Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ), a Fellow of the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE) and is the Founding President of the Virtual Reality Society of Japan (VRSJ). Hi my name is EuSheng Chung. I am a leader of 2 who are, Jonathan and Li Xin Lim, in my team, and I had build "The Dancing Musical Fountain." Me and Jonathan worked on the programming and Li Xin did the decoration. The whole project took about 3 months of hard work. In 2009, we won Gold prize at the State level in NRC, and we also won the Silver prize at National level in NRC. The theme for that year was "Artist Robot." Basically, my project did is to perform dancing with a song named "Canon in D," and these elephants did shoot water out. They are programmed to follow the rhythm of the song, Further more, we also won the best decoration and the best presentation awards. This short movie was used for presentation. Resources-- 10 NXT MindStorms, 9 NXT Motors, 8 RCX Motors, 8 Converters, 8 Touch Sensors, 3 Ultra Sonic Sensors, 1 Sound Sensor, 1 Big Swimming Pool, 1 Japan Aquarium Pump, 2 Big Astro Aquarium Pump, 2 Small Aquarium Pump, 3 Colors LED Strip Light, and a bunch of LEGOs.
