Capodanno giapponese - oshougatsu
da internet: Il periodo di Capodanno, in Giappone, è chiamato oshougatsu (お正月) e dal 1° al 3 gennaio i giapponesi non lavorano perchè sono giorni festivi ed è considerato come una delle feste più importanti dell'anno. Prima del 1873 la festa era basata sul calendario cinese e veniva celebrata all'inizio della primavera, successivamente venne adottato il calendario gregoriano e la festa venne spostata al 1º gennaio. Durante i primi 7 giorni di gennaio decorano con i pini (mastu) ei bambu (take) le porte delle case e dei negozi. Si visitano i templi e ci si scambia le cartoline di auguri (Nengajou). Queste vengono date anche dal Ministero delle Poste, abbinata ad una lotteria ed i numeri vengono estratti il 4 gennaio. I premi sono molto belli!, si può vincere un viaggio all'estero, un DVD recorder, La TV a cristalli liquidi (Aquos) ecc. Non è consuetudine inviare queste cartoline, quando uno ha avuto un lutto in famiglia durante l'anno. In questo caso, un membro della famiglia manda una semplice cartolina per informare amici e parenti che non dovrebbero inviare biglietti di Capodanno, in segno di rispetto per i defunti.
